Mama Africa: ilussions

Today my experience knowlagde package is funny times bigger than it was a year ago..
Why funny
Because its funny how many things are  out there which you can simply go and do.
Things, that we, who have two good eyes, usually forget to see.

On the other hand - I am happy I've started traveling solo excatly now, not earlier or later because I believe that those are not the circumstances that dominate, but your own mind, your reaction to the World and decisions made which always lead you to the place you belong.
My point of view might look primitive, but HEY! -
Enjoy your life.
Don't run too fast.
Don't miss the spectacular gifts
every day offers.

I've truly experienced a life without limits that made me realize
how much you can actually DO in those 24 hours.
Or when you expand it by moving from one time zone to the other -
wonderful, wonderful feeling!

Even if you sleep or eat less that day.

There was this person , lying on the sidewalk the other day.
From the moment our car passed by and seconds became endless I was hoping that we will stop eventually. We didn't.
I've been told that it might be a trap and that this person might kill and rob us at the end. Terrified by such an apathay I suddenly notice a police officer 200 metres away.
As our car kept going, I've got this as a response:
''This might be a trap too.
Anyone can put that uniform.''

''It is only you, who are trapped'' - I thought to myself and couldn't get out of this awful experience for a long time.

Since I've arrived to the West Africa I've been constantly told to be aware of every single thing around: your day starts with spraying poison all over your skin, protecting you from mosquitoes & Malaria.
Every time you enter the road, no matter by walking, in a cab or friend's car - you risk to get into an accident.
You must wash your hands all the time, be sure of what you eat or drink.
You have to draw stirct lines between yourself and this world, which perfectly fits into a saying: ''If you expect the world to be fair with you because you are fair, you're fooling yourself. That's like expecting the lion not to eat you because you didn't eat him.''

Avoid eye contact, do not answer, pass by fast, do not look around too much, do not smile. You have to be faster, smarter, wiser and attentive. You are catching everyone's attention by simply being too white or too blonde..
Or ''too girl''.

While sincerity and openness have been my best companions durring all my travels - suddenly I had to force myself to act differently. To act cold.

Guess if I did?

My first drivers offer me a drink before I continue

Yes, drivers here are mad & insane - they do not follow any rules, they create their own. Yes, you can sure get Malaria and may not escape food poisoning , but there are same chances to be deadly killed by a coconut fruit felling from a palm tree.
Yes, there are men walking around with AK-47 , but nobody is going to shoot you if you will not ask for it.It is more up to your own mind and the power of atracting things:
if you think people are dishonest and bad - you will get to meet those people, trust me.
Thoughts you keep in your conscious becomes the reality, so instead of focusing on the negative, embrace what's good.
In this World there is ALWAYS something you can be happy about
or smile for.

Open your eyes, open your heart.

Than no lion will ever eat you if you will not disturb him.
And you will not get poisoned by drinking water from a wooden cup in the middle of the jungle, where this old lady treats you as her own daughter. She will kindly offer you her home built on stilts, which seems to be much more stable and welcoming than the ones made of heavy bricks.
She will give you fruits and hug you tight before you leave.
And you will never see each other again, but gonna let this warm feeling you've created together stay & grow inside.

To tell you the truth - I've seen and met people who still live in this ilussion of awareness
and I am glad I didn't fell for it by their opinions or overheared stories.
''Don't listen to what they say.
Go and see.''

Afterall, despite this super strong desire of wanderlust there is another important thing why I adore traveling so much.

People.
People who are so kind & helpful, intelligent, compassionate, repectful.

People who are sooo beautiful.
Especially in Africa.

I've discovered the roots of humanity in this marvellous land of unfair fate souls. Ilussions of africans being in need of things or money are so so wrong!
They need love and care.
Strong hugs, acceptance and support on their hard life roads.
Real things, which would give them hope and light.

Sharing is caring

Less ilussions:

Even the most reckless soul
May vanish in the endless hole
Of illussions how this world should be
The steps you take can sure mislead
While all of us so blessed to live
To share, to heal, to help & give
If greedy Vanity takes place
Just be a man & win that race!
* * *
Those things we look for day by day
All we try to know, to gain
Ilussion creates an ilussion
